Air-to-water heat pump
Air-to-water heat pumps are among the most efficient heat sources available for warm water central heating. It is the same refrigeration technology that most Kiwi’s are used to with the air-to-air heat pumps that are so popular. Air-to-water heat pumps put the energy into the water that is used in the warm water central heating system rather than blowing air around the home.
If you want to reduce your carbon footprint and increase your central heating energy efficiency, an air-to-water heat pump is an absolute must. It's a simple and eco-friendly choice for your home. Air-to-water heat pumps are electrical appliances that get the most value from a unit of electricity.
Air-to-Water Heat pumps can be used for underfloor or radiator systems but are particularly suited to low-temperature underfloor systems. Domestic hot water can also be produced via a cylinder connected to the system that has a coil inside of it which transfers the heat from your heat pump to your domestic water.
Central Heating New Zealand is proud to offer Chofu heat pumps which are made in Japan and have been tried and tested in New Zealand for the past seven years, verifying the unrivaled Japanese reliability. They feature a single-phase inverter compressor with an integral room controller for heating times and temperatures, operation down to minus 20°C, and are extremely quiet. Chofu is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supplying many Japanese and European heat pump companies that are well known in our local market. With proven technology, Chofu heat pumps come with a 5-year warranty and lead the industry with the latest R32 climate-friendly refrigerant. Electric relays and temperature sensors come with a 1-year warranty.
Central Heating New Zealand is proud to offer Domusa heat pumps which are made in Spain. Domusa's high-temperature 16kW heat pump is a compact and eco-friendly heating solution. It utilises the natural and non-toxic R290 refrigerant, which boasts a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 3. This advanced heat pump is designed to operate efficiently at standard flow temperatures, requiring lower refrigerant charges. This not only enhances safety but also offers significant environmental benefits, making it an ideal choice for replacing older, less efficient units. The heat pump has a special compressor and a built-in controller, which let you easily set the heating schedule and temperature, and can even control the Domestic Hot Water (DHW) production. It offers a maximum flow temperature of 75°C and can operate effectively even in very cold conditions, with a minimum outside air temperature of -20°C. Domusa heat pumps are monobloc heat pumps, which means that the transfer of heat or cold to the water is done inside the outdoor unit, without the need to pipe cooling gas into the building. This combination of high efficiency, safety, and environmental friendliness makes it a superior option for modern heating needs.
